She Who Stands with a Fist

I have a beautiful lifetime friend who is fighting cancer with all her might. We text and message often and I make it a point to fill her with love, courage and hope. Today in our text exchange, she told me that her 2nd favorite movie is Dances with Wolves. The lead female character is named Stands With A Fist. She painted my heart with love today to tell me that I also, stand with a fist and I remind her of that special character.

I am still taken aback by this right now as I write.

Here’s my brief posit for today:

I think I might truly be her. She Who Stands with a Fist. My entire life I have been presented with problems requiring solutions and I feel, no, I know I was put on this earth to stand with a fist for those who need my help. For some reason I was given strength and toughness and resilience to fight storms. The consummate archetypal advocate. I never give (gave) up and through my own journeys of growth and knowledge, I have lent compassion and interest and the gift of answers to seemingly unanswerable questions.

I can’t think of a part or parcel of my life where I won’t want to do that anymore.
